SNEAKERS

The Idea: Reflecting the beautiful and unique patterns of koi scales, these customs feature an orange and white upper. Dynamic and bold the scales travel along the body of the sneakers.

SNEAKER DUST BAG

The Idea: This piece was screen printed before it was sewn together. On two pieces of white fabric, an orange screen and a black screen were printed. The pieces were then sewn together with a loop for a shoelace to tighten the top of the bag.

Inspired by printed tights, these customs feature a unique tribal print. Intricacy meets boldness as the print wraps around the upper of the shoe. Black accents were also added in the midsole and the upper to make the print pop.

Based on the SB Dunk "Diamond," this custom takes the Tiffany to a whole new level. With added details including custom tongue tags and sole inserts, the "Diamond Rose" Dunks were magnificently crafted.

A gift for a man who moved to Colorado. Natural earth tones were used with a western vibe to translate the United States Southwest region.

Inspired by 2012's Mercurial Vapor IX, these customs featured a striking gradient. Along with the airbrushed fade, the Swooshes also featured a wood-carved safari print, inspired by 2013's "size?" Rosheruns.

Inspired by the corn snake, these customs feature a striking red snake print. Black accents on the midsole and upper add stealth to the slithering pair.

A blast from the past returns in a low-cut version. Mimicking the high top model, these customs feature an alligator print on a lime green upper.

DESIGN BRIEF

Design a document that explores the formal structure of a letterform to emphasize its characteristic quality. In addition to the design you are to include a text description of the provenance of the letter form: where did it come from, what did the symbol mean originally, what has it meant over time, what does it mean today? The final presentation will showcase your letters in different typfaces and styles. Limit this to black and white. Describe the origins, history of the letter form.
